The idea regarding SiteSupport had been lingering for some time in the back of Nicholas' mind. Beginning 2010 he took the plunge and developed an early prototype, showing the feasibility. Having a simple prototype is one thing, but making it work with many users is something completely different.
It soon became clear that a service such as SiteSupport would need an asynchronous webserver. Asynchronous webservers are high performance webservers that make it possible to handle a large amount of concurrent web sessions. Nicholas' in-depth benchmark showed that one specific webserver stood out from the rest, Gevent.
This is how Nicholas met Denis, the author of Gevent. They share the same passions and soon decided to join forces and work on SiteSupport together.
The web is quickly becoming realtime; where a website used to be something static from which monthly statistics could be gathered it's quickly becoming the most important channel to connect with customers. With SiteSupport we will facilitate this channel
